Asbury Park | New Jersey

Springwood Park

June 27 – August 29, 2016

The Levitt AMP Asbury Park Music Series will inject new life into Springwood Park—the only public park on the City’s underserved West side—giving all Asbury Park residents in this seaside community a welcoming place to gather and celebrate their city’s rich musical history.

Presented by the Asbury Park Music Foundation, a nonprofit that celebrates Asbury Park’s rich musical heritage and fuels revitalization by promoting Asbury Park as a musical destination.

 


Carson City | Nevada

Minnesota Street Stage

June 4 – August 6, 2016

The Levitt AMP Carson City Music Series elevated the Brewery Arts Center’s existing summer concert series, filling the Minnesota Street Stage with free, live music and transforming an underused street in the heart of downtown Carson City’s Historic District into a vibrant gathering place for the surrounding community.

Presented by the Brewery Arts Center, a nonprofit organization that enriches quality of life by cultivating arts and culture for all.

 


Charlottesville | Virginia

IX Art Park

August 27 – October 28, 2016

*2015 Levitt AMP winner

Following the success of the 2015 Levitt AMP Charlottesville Music Series, IX Art Park, the recently launched public art park in the heart of Charlottesville’s Strategic Investment District near UVA, will once again serve as the colorful backdrop for free Levitt concerts—providing a place for the city’s wide range of communities to come together, celebrate Charlottesville’s thriving music scene and improve the overall quality of life in this underserved area.

Presented by WTJU-FM, a nonprofit radio station—licensed to the Rector and Board of Visitors of the University of Virginia—that presents original, rich and varied programming.


Cleveland | Mississippi

Green Space on the Crosstie Walking Trail at College Street

August 31 – November 3, 2016

*2015 Levitt AMP winner

The Levitt AMP Cleveland Music Series will return for the second year to the re-imagined Green Space on the Crosstie Walking Trail—once the site of railroad tracks that both physically and psychologically divided the town—encouraging people of all backgrounds to come together to enjoy free, live music while celebrating the rich musical legacy of Mississippi Delta Blues.

Presented by Delta State University Foundation, a nonprofit that funds a wide range of campus initiatives.


Denison | Texas

Heritage Park

May 27 – July 29, 2016

This summer, the Levitt AMP Denison Music Series returned for the second year to the centrally located Heritage Square Park to further elevate the Music on Main series—fueling downtown Denison’s revitalization and strengthening the city’s social and economic vitality by celebrating inclusivity, engagement and accessibility through music.

Presented by Denison Main Street Inc., which produces events and activities in downtown Denison.


Frederick | Maryland

Carroll Creek Park Amphitheater

June 21 – August 23, 2016

The Levitt AMP Frederick Music Series returns for the second year to activate the underused Carroll Creek—once a dividing line in the community—with the Levitt AMP Frederick Music Series, giving residents of all backgrounds an opportunity to gather, celebrate local culture and enjoy a wide array of talented artists.

Presented by Downtown Frederick Partnership, a nonprofit National Main Street Program that works to enhance, promote and preserve the vitality of downtown Frederick.


Greensboro | North Carolina

Jimmie I. Barber Park

May 1 – July 9, 2016

The Levitt AMP Greensboro Music Series introduced residents to the newly renovated yet underused Jimmie I. Barber Park in East Greensboro, bringing the city’s diverse populations together to enjoy a broad range of musical styles.

Presented by ArtsGreensboro, a nonprofit catalyst for innovation that supports Greensboro’s arts scene through grants, marketing support and other impactful initiatives and services.

 


Jacksonville | Illinois

Central Park

June 3 – August 6, 2016

The Levitt AMP Jacksonville Music Series fueled the city’s efforts to revitalize the formerly neglected historic central business district, breathing new life into the culturally rich Central Park—the once vibrant center of downtown community life.

Presented by Jacksonville Main Street, a nonprofit which enhances the social and economic health of Jacksonville by working to revitalize the city’s downtown district.

Middlesboro | Kentucky

Levitt AMP Middlesboro Pop-Up Park

July 30 – October 1, 2016

The Levitt AMP Middlesboro Music Series returns for the second year to the Levitt AMP Middlesboro Pop-Up Park—downtown Middlesboro’s increasingly vibrant green space that was formerly a vacant, gravel lot—to augment the city’s community-driven revitalization of its economically challenged downtown, encouraging further community investment in the arts and promoting Middlesboro as a cultural destination.

Presented by Discover Downtown Middlesboro, Inc, a nonprofit dedicated to revitalizing downtown Middlesboro.


Midvale | Utah

Midvale City Park

June 3 – August 6, 2016

The Levitt AMP Midvale Music Series in Midvale City Park—a green space surrounded by underserved communities—elevated the existing free summer concert series at the Midvale Outdoor Stage in the Park, building upon the city’s efforts to revitalize Midvale City Park and the adjacent community by providing all residents a place to gather and enjoy high quality arts experiences.

Presented by the Midvale Arts Council, which provides opportunities for Midvale citizens of all ages and backgrounds to experience the positive benefits of the arts and local culture.


New Albany | Mississippi

The Park Along the River

June 4 – August 6, 2016

The Levitt AMP New Albany Music Series gave residents of all ages and backgrounds a reason to gather in the town’s recently renovated Park Along the River—creating a new, positive perception of this centrally-located yet long-neglected park adjacent to the city’s downtown area.

Presented by the City of New Albany’s Tourism Department, which produces enriching family experiences and inspires the City’s revitalization by promoting New Albany as a tourist destination.


North Adams | Massachusetts

Colegrove Park

August 14 – October 16, 2016

The Levitt AMP North Adams Music Series will help re-launch the newly renovated Colegrove Park in conjunction with the reopening of the adjacent Colegrove Park Elementary School—using free, live music to help bring this forgotten community green space back to its former glory as an inclusive community gathering place.

Presented by the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts Foundation, Inc., a nonprofit dedicated to the growth, development and support of Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts (MCLA).


Sheboygan | Wisconsin

The Art Center’s Festival Green

June 16 – August 18, 2016

Last summer’s inaugural Levitt AMP Sheboygan Music Series served as a catalyst for transforming a large, vacant retail store—which blocked foot traffic and separated the downtown district from cultural organizations—into downtown Sheboygan’s new, green, walkable Arts & Culture Plaza. The 2016 Levitt AMP Sheboygan Music Series will be held across the street at the John Michael Kohler Art Center’s Festival Green, as the city prepares an environmental remediation of the Arts & Culture Plaza to remove buried debris and contaminants left over from a 1980s fire—bringing it one step closer to becoming a place where people of all ages and backgrounds come together and activate their city’s downtown core.

Presented by the John Michael Kohler Arts Center (JMKAC), a nonprofit art museum that gives visitors a place to experience critically acclaimed world-class exhibitions, performances and programs.


Trenton | New Jersey

Capital Green

July 23 – September 24, 2016

The Levitt AMP Trenton Music Series returns for the second year to the underused and historic three-acre Capital Green public space to reignite community pride in Trenton and encourage residents to engage with the city’s rich cultural and historical offerings.

Presented by the Trenton Downtown Association, a nonprofit dedicated to promoting economic growth and development as well as arts and cultural activities in the capital city.


Utica | New York

Kopernik Park

July 4 – September 5, 2016

The Levitt AMP Utica Music Series will bring momentum to the city’s social, physical and financial resurgence, bringing the city’s diverse local and refugee residents together in Kopernik Park—a green space within walking distance of the city’s community gardens, the Utica Public Library and the Mohawk Valley Resource Center for Refugees—to build a stronger, more unified community through free, live music.

Presented by Cornell’s R2G Utica Urban Studio, which unites and enables the community by bringing skills, research and action to a wide variety of community projects.
